issues.
What is Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction?
Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is a stress reduction technique that
uses the mind's ability to be aware. It is beneficial for anyone who wants to cope with stress in a healthy manner.
This technique is used at the University of
Massachusetts Medical Center's Center for Mindfulness. Over ten years of
medical research is proving that this format of regular meditation
practice can also be a powerful form of complimentary medicine. It helps people without illness to cope with daily stress, and also it helps medical patients cope with the stress that comes from physical symptoms and illnesses. Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn introduced the format for this 8 week intensive in his book "Full Catastrophe Living."
